Online Marketing - Traffic Increasing Secret Strategy From An Internet Marketing Guru

This tactic has been very useful to me, and now I'm here to show it to you. It's called social bookmarking.

Social bookmarking is a great way to get backlinks from websites with pr of 4-5 or more (pr just stands for public relations). Public relations, in blunt, is how publicly reliable that link is and how much people use it, so the higher the pr, the better (I believe 10 is the max). A backlink is when websites use links to direct people to your website. Backlinks are one of the greatest tools that an internet marketer has to use at their disposal, because it's free and it really works. Backlinks are the most fastest and easiest ways to increase your page ranking with google. When you get backlinked, google thinks of you as a reliable source and therefore, google increases your page ranking. But the websites that link to you have to be reliable in order for you to see fast results. So if you want to see fast results, get a backlink from google, if you can (don't count on it), and your page ranking will skyrocket. Why? Because you've been linked from a highly reliable web source, so google thinks that your a reliable web source.

So how can social bookmarking get you backlinks with a pr of 4 or more? Social bookmarking websites, are places you can go to find reliable information. One very popular social bookmarking website is digg.com. This social bookmarking website is loved by google because it acts as a filter, because the public votes on an article or blog, and the more that people vote on it, the more reliable, interesting, or amusing the content is said to be. Google loves this.

To get into the craze of social bookmarking, you have sign up with social bookmarking websites. There's tons of them, and don't worry, they're free. All you have to do, is input your website into any social bookmarking website and click the okay button. Now your website has been linked to that social bookmarking website, so people can view it, and then bookmark it. The more people bookmark your page, the higher your page ranking goes with google, because again, your seen as a reliable source.

I suggest that you log your information into every major social bookmarking website. You can find them out on the internet. But this can take forever. So use what I use, onlywire.com. It's a one stop social bookmarking website, and it's free. Just sign up with all of the bookmarking sites that it uses(it has all of the major ones), and then enter your information into onlywire. Your information goes to onlywire.com and then it ships that information out to all of the other major social bookmarking websites. Now you have just created backlinks from websites with pr of more than 4! Your page ranking has just gone up!

I promise that if you use this tactic, and other internet marketing techniques, your web traffic will begin to skyrocket! Research some and I'll

SEE YOU AT THE TOP!

Social Marketing And Social Bookmarking

The very human nature persisting for ages is the earnest sense related to socializing.

There has always been a great degree of speculation related to:

What makes a site attractive in terms of repeat visitors?
How to add the personal touch in customer management?

The answer is as inherent as human nature: Social Marketing. But, what does that mean exactly?

Thousands of webmasters now-a-days incorporate online community tools in their websites. Some of these include online forums, message boards and of course the blogs. However some of these features are only unidirectional, that is, they do not allow a free expression to be conveyed.

However bi-directional tools such as forums and message boards allow a high degree of communication between the publisher and the reader. So do live chat programs as ICQ, Messenger. This is how we usually socialize in the online jungle. But, what really is social marketing in this context?

Often webmasters to use these social communication tools as a platform for service or business announcements. This is where social marketing gets into the open.

One of the very important avenues related to social marketing is social bookmarking, an innovative cross linking mechanism to attract traffic to your site.

While launching a social bookmarking or rather any social marketing campaign webmasters have to administer several strategically sound issues. When blended well, these strategies compliment each other for the best possible social.

1. Always keep your ideas and contents fresh. Post helpful resources which may lure in sufficient amount of traffic.

2. Always try to attract prospective customers by launching fresh campaign ideas such as contest and free gifts.

3. Cross-linking allows the probability of unearthing your site mush greater.

4. Choose your associates, with whom you should be in harmony during the period of this campaign

5. Always have an attractive layout for the common visitors, with simple sitemap and a professional feature rich outlook.

Social News And Bookmarking Sites - What Every Online Business Owner Needs To Know

If you run a business online then you're probably looking for a way to increase the number of sales and the number of visitors to your site. One simple and cost effective way to do this is through social news and social bookmark sites.

Social news and bookmark sites are community driven. The community vote for the content that they want to see reach the popular pages. If your content reaches the front page then you are likely to attract tens of thousands of new visitors to your site. Imagine - all that traffic from one article!

Many website owners will spend vast sums of money on traditional advertising, yet treat social media sites almost as an afterthought. If you're not using social bookmark and news sites then you're missing out on a huge opportunity to grow your business.

Understandably, most people who run a small business or website are pushed for time. There are only so many hours in a day to get things done, but not using social media sites as a marketing channel is a big mistake. Here are just some of the reasons why you need to start thinking about social media marketing:

Drive traffic - social media sites will definitely drive traffic to your site if you reach the popular pages. You can attract a large number of visitors to your page that might otherwise take months to achieve from traditional internet marketing methods.

Reach influencers - by submitting your content to social media sites you can reach key "influencers" on the web. Why does this matter? Well, since most of these influencers have their own websites, reaching the popular pages will often mean that they will link back to your website, which helps you to climb up the rankings in search engines and also helps spread your products.

Build authority - building authority in your particular niche will undoubtedly increase sales. People are more likely to buy something from someone who appears to know what they are talking about. Reaching the front pages of social news and bookmark sites will help you build trust with your audience. You'll also come to be regarded you as an expert in your field.

Grow your brand - social media sites can also help you to grow your brand. You can almost think of it as a form of public relations. You are increasing your visibility on the web and again, this helps you to gain trust with your audience.

Understand your customers - some users will leave comments about your submitted content. While not all will be helpful, there might be some valid suggestions from users. If you listen to your users and engage in a conversation with them they are far more likely to trust you in the future and you can also get some useful feedback on your website.

Increase sales/subscriptions - this is what every business or website owner wants. Not only can you increase sales in the long-term by building up your authority, but using social news and bookmark sites to promote your business will also see an increase in sales in the short term.

If you're not using social news and bookmark sites as part of your overall marketing strategy then you're missing out on potentially tens of thousands of new customers. Just one piece of content can drive traffic to your website and increase sales dramatically. So what are you waiting for? Start today and watch your online business grow!

Avoiding Becoming An SB Site Spammer

MAKING SURE YOU DON'T SPAM

Social bookmarking offers you a lot of freedom, and can help you drive traffic to your website overnight. Still, abusing this freedom can lower the credibility of your business, your brand, and your company name. Moving beyond the potential for spamming will help you to build a strong and regular community, instead of being booted off a social bookmarking network.

It's important to review your submissions to make sure you're not overusing keywords. Keyword overuse is a turnoff for readers anyway, and you should aim for a keyword density between 6-8% at the maximum level. Most readers will easily pick up on articles that simply do not make sense, and this will limit your ability to promote quality work. Instead of focusing exclusively on SEO, create something unique with an attractive headline instead.

Google and Yahoo! are also becoming vigilant about catching spam-type articles and you will lower your chances of indexing as a result. The most important factors for indexing by Google include:

" Publishing content that is relevant to the heading or topic " Quality formatting " Appropriate links and references " Appropriate amount of keywords

Reading all terms of use and guidelines will ensure that you can make the most of your participation, and grow with your community so you are developing a strong presence.

Avoiding Becoming A Spammer If You're Using Duplicate Content.

Duplicate content makes it easier for you to write about your topic of choice, giving you a pre-researched format and guideline. Still, it's important to make many changes to the article, and obtain permission rights from the author when necessary. A single sentence or paragraph that is copied word for word can be detrimental to your search engine placement, and may even lead to copyright infringement.

THE SOFTWARE QUESTION: TO BUY, OR NOT TO BUY

You'll find a variety of submission directory software packages and applications available on the web today, but it's important to review the risks involved with using an automated service. Since many of these can be blocked by spam filters, the efforts may not be worth your time. These software packages are designed to submit your content and information on multiple sites in one simple step.

Some social bookmarking submission software packages are designed to be compatible with multiple websites, but you may find that some of your content simply becomes pushed onto spamming sites and bogs. This is why submitting to quality directories and sites is even more important today. Automation does not necessarily guarantee quality, and only you can make the decision on whether this is appropriate for your business, your blog, or your website.

Still, you may find some value in free sites such as Socializer 2.0. Socializer is free web service from eKstreme.com that allows you submit one link to several social bookmarking websites by adding some code to your site. The company has also developed customizable Wordpress and Movable Type plugins and you can find instructions on downloading this information directly from the website.

You can book mark your articles to one folder in your IE Favorites, export it to it's own folder and import all book marks in that folder to Del.icou.us and them tag/label them. Many of the other Social Bookmarking Sites have features that will allow you to import those favorites directly into your account from Del.icio.us.

IMPORTANT: Remember to mark all your bookmarks in all Social Bookmarking Sites as public. When you import bookmarks, most sites will automatically or by default mark them as private. When they are marked as private, no one including search engines can find of view your bookmarks. If you leave them marked as private, it of course then defeats the purpose of Social Bookmarking from a marketing standpoint.

Social Bookmarking - 6 Steps to Make More Money With Social Bookmarking

Social bookmarking sites like digg, stumbleupon, and reddit can bring enormous traffic to your site especially if your listings were able to make it to these sites' front pages. Just imagine additional 10,000 t0 12,000 visitors to your site every day! That will spell big profit for you.

Here are the 6 steps on how you can make it big in social bookmarking sites:

1. Use catchy headlines. There are thousands of quality articles on social bookmarking sites that are left unread because their titles are not attention-grabbing. Remember, online users will only be presented with titles when they search the listings so, to make sure that your articles will be clicked, use interesting and intriguing headlines.

2. Provide detailed, accurate description of your articles. Once you have successfully attracted online users to read your articles, keep them interested by giving them a sneak peak of your copies. Provide them with a summary of information and benefits that they will get in reading your articles.

3. Write an equally attention-grabbing first paragraph. Don't lose your customers interest by presenting them lousy introduction; instead spill the juiciest details on this part to keep your readers glued on your article.

4. Provide your readers with quality content. One of the main reasons why online users are reading articles is to get information. Thus, make sure that your articles are informative and useful. It is also crucial that your articles are well-written and easy to understand to give online users great reading experience.

5. Insert a bookmarking button at the end of your articles. This is to make it easier for your readers to bookmark your articles if they find them useful and of high quality.

6. Pick the right category for your articles. To make sure that your articles can be easily found, list them on appropriate categories.

Social Bookmarking - The New Phenomenon

These days it often seems that we are evolving too quickly.... Well evolution is only the start of the process, and nothing really can stop it.

The span of digital media is immense and the application of the diverse resources is often challenging to cover. But we don't have the time to catch our breath and look back at the past. The world will certainly not help us to gain our position if we miss it once.

With this change, a few perceptions have still remained constant. One such perception is socializing. And the virtual world across the World Wide Web is just another example of this feature.

Today some the sites gaining the highest amount of traffic are related to social networking. And resultantly, the online marketing gurus and entrepreneurs have not lost the opportunity to cash in on it.

One such marketing scheme is the Social Bookmarking phenomenon.

Some of the related social bookmarking sites include:

1. Technorati
2. Digg
3. Squidoo
4. Tagged

And many more .....

The concept of social bookmarking is almost the same as bookmarking favorites with your internet browser, the only viable difference being, you are saving the favourites for yourself only, while in the case of social bookmarking, you are sharing your tags to be viewed by others. The personalized tag often helps to feed more traffic onto your bandwidth for optimum promotion of your services and business offerings.

Always try to make your tagline professional and appealing to attract even the casual traffic to have a glance at your sites. By having a professional landing page certainly helps. Information rich contents related to similar subjects also allows your site to be posted highly on your favorite search engines as well, which certainly means added traffic flow of interested prospects to your business portal.

So, what are you waiting for? Start tagging.

How 'Social' Is Social Bookmarking?

The recent explosion of "social" web applications has revolutionized the way we store, organize and share files online.

Social Bookmarking has been dubbed a new revolution in storing, organizing and sharing all types of data. This method is also a new way to discover the Web, and is seen as a unique innovation in the area of searching for information online.

Under the old format of bookmarking, the new bookmarking system categories bookmarks made by humans who understand the content of the pages they have listed, unlike to the search engines that use algorithms to rate & store the content of Web sites. The result pages are ranked by the number of users or the times the keyword searched has appeared on the resource.

The Relevance of Social Bookmarking Systems

Social Bookmarks are a nice add-on for individuals and organizations. It is all about generating traffic, and your online bookmarks again generate links which can potentially bring traffic to the a Web site. In addition, these sites are highly considered by search engines because they are seen as reliable and recommended Web sites.

These bookmarking sites also help you to meet other people who are interested in the same topics you are, and also gives you knowledge of web resources that you don't know yet. But by organizing your bookmarks online; you can help yourself by getting organized and getting your content exposed, and also help others at the same time to finding great content.

Data Sharing: The Concept Behind Social Bookmarks

Online bookmarking systems help individuals create a public, on-line portfolio, wherein content creators are always looking for an audience for their material. You can use bookmarks to create a tagged index of your on-line creative work.

These online bookmarking sites let you share these groupings of your content with other people. It is possible that you might discover new fans or potential content buyers by publicizing your on-line portfolio. You could these bookmarks to make new contacts, as social bookmarking sites can show you the profile IDs of the people who created the bookmarks. In addition, these profiles provide contact information.

If a person has bookmarked a lot of useful resources on a topic, you might want to try to contact them for further information. You also may be able to discover valuable new colleagues by checking out bookmarking sites. Another good aspect of this revolutionary form of data sharing is that you can also develop an on-line rating system, as bookmarks can be an on-line supplement to your blog or Web site.

One of the great aspects of this, is that in a sense you can network with others using the tool. Hence the social aspect of bookmarking. For instance, if you know that a friend of yours has Delicious bookmarks and you know their user names, you can add their name to the delicious URL to view their bookmarks.

Individuals could create their own page on many sites today, and share with friends or readers. You could also e-mail it to your readers once a week or once a month instead of a newsletter so they can keep up with your latest blog entries and Web site updates. In addition, add all your favorite Web sites to the page too so you can find them when you need them later.

The Social Bookmarking Revolution

Social bookmarking sites are relatively new phenomena that are growing in popularity every day. Three years ago, Digg was one of the first, and helped facilitate human interaction. Each of these sites provides a way for people to interact and exchange tips, comments and the like. This makes better people's online experiences. If you do a search for social bookmarking, you will find many of the best known sites, such as the aforementioned Digg, ma.gnolia, del.icio.us, SlashDot, and YouTube. Most of these sites are not geared to any particular subject or venue and have content covering just about every subject area.

Each has frequent visitors who submit contributions, comments, and other types of exchanges. Most are very user-friendly, so that even non-computer literate folks can use them. Some sites, such as Listible, are a bit more difficult to understand than more user-friendly sites. Of course, exchanging comments among people does not mean that you should not have your own opinion, so of course, you can disagree with other people's bookmarking choices.

One particular shortcoming of these types of sites is that they are not always able to weed out spammers or other inappropriate material. This is because many people simply want the search engine optimization these sites potentially offer and do not focus on providing real valued content. As these sites evolve and get better at weeding out inappropriate material, this type of activity will become less of a problem. Until then, you should probably simply ignore this activity when it pops up and move on to better material.

As the sites become more and more popular, some are becoming hot commodities and are bought by other owners for millions of dollars. Although some might find this mystifying, if a site has 150,000 subscribers, that means there is an e-mail list with that many names on it. This can be very effective as a marketing tool and can promote affiliate and third-party offers. Along with banners and advertising, they can give social bookmarking web sites substantial income, which owners can then pocket.

As more and more of these types of sites come online and compete with previously established ones, a site that does not have healthy growth will disappear from page rankings while the real players will become more and more prevalent. They may, as other sites have done, be sold for a large amount to other sites such as Google or Yahoo. However, if you are interested in niche social bookmarking, this, too, will become popular.

Are You Socializing?

Today as the internet is growing and the web 2.0 is taking its place social bookmarking is becoming one of the most important tools for internet marketing. If you are new to internet marketing or if you are pro and want to be found by more people social bookmarking is the right place to do it. In internet marketing and business the rule is the same is it was all the time, socialize, mingle, make some "noise", search for people and let them find you.

What is it?

Social bookmarking is exactly what it sounds, going social, this a tool for internet surfer to socialize with each other, mingle, meet new people with the same goals and interests like yourself and share your bookmarking with them, the same way that you store your favorites web sites, music picture and more on your computer, you are now able to store them on your social service site account, most of the time they are public for all members to see but there are some website, where you can save your favorites for your eyes only.

How does it work?

To go social you first have to join the community, after joining the community it is recommended to read and learn how the community works, what allowed, what not, how to use it and more. Than you will update your profile, the profile is public and this is what the other surfers will see when visiting your page, you can personalize it with a photo and a short description a bout yourself, your favorite books, movies, music and more, and most of the time you can add a url link for your personal blog or your personal website, if you have one, if not, you can add a link to another profile on another social service.

After updating your profile you can start bookmarking and socializing, search people with the same interests as you, search websites they like, pictures, blogs and more.

You'll see when you are searching that all the files are organized by tags or labels, and sometimes by categories.

When finding a website you like or a person you like you are being asked to tag them or label them, by doing that, you are making it easier for other people to find your favorites if they are searching the same tags.

Who can use social bookmarking?

Everyone with an access to a computer can use social bookmarking, those services are free to join and free to use and you are able to join as many social services as you want, all the information is stored on a server so you don't have to download anything to your computer, of course, some of the social services are giving you the option the download a tool bar to install on your browser, to help use the social bookmarking more efficient and easily.

What are the advantages?

Using social bookmarking will open the world for you; the tagging system is helping you finding websites and files that you might never will come a cross on a regular search on the search engines. For those who are searching to meet people this is a great service, you can find very interesting people on the social service from your own country and from other different countries on earth.

What are the disadvantages?

The social services are universal, that means that sometimes errors may occur due to spelling mistakes, tagging mistakes and even scams. A lot of scammers and spammers use this platform to manipulate their websites to the top, but today most social bookmarking services are not allowing it and will bound them from the site.

How can use it to promote yourself?

Social bookmarking is one of the new ways for internet marketers to promote themselves and their businesses, they can bookmark their own pages and blogs, and as long they are not spamming it will be allowed, they are bringing new content and tagging it, then the more tags they will get the more people will find theme and they will rank higher and get more traffic to their website, this a great way to promote their business and as long as you play right it will work for you.

Social Bookmarking - How To Warm Up Your Prospects?

Now-a-days getting targeted traffic to your website is becoming more and more difficult with so many online businesses to vying for the traffic.

Amidst all this chaos social bookmarking can make it easier for you and give you an added advantage to secure more targeted traffic. Try to understand the necessary guidelines related to creating a successful social bookmarking strategy.

Social bookmarking sites are usually web based social networking sites where members exchange ideas by sharing their quality resources, helpful contents etc. Leaving your bookmarks and engaging in interactive sessions may greatly improve your reputation within the community.

However before you jump into the social bookmarking networks, it would be useful to follow some rules that can help you to be creative as well as helpful in those sites:

1. Try to develop your reputation by voting and bookmarking others' works first before you request someone else to bookmark and vote for you. This will enhance general awareness and mutual reciprocity. Also it will mask your actual efforts as others will not get the impression that you're there just to channel traffic to your site.

2. Make sure that you present quality contents for the general viewers. Also update your offerings often to keep them fresh and up to date.

3. Never forget to tag your article so that others can easily access it. Search engines love originality and high viewership. Hence getting a high rate of traffic surge will certainly improve your search engine ratings.

Though social bookmarking works incredibly well to get interested prospects to your site, yet its application is often limited to only a small percentage of online dealers. Hence it is highly recommended to use this mechanism to drive an untouched pool of network traffic to further boost your business endeavors.

How Your Online Venture Can Profit From Social Bookmarking

Social bookmarking today is a major phenomenon that has opened a new avenue for online businesses to expand their reach and earn more profits.

However, there are still a lot of Web site owners who have no idea what it is, let alone how to use it to increase their website leads, sales, subscribers and even your repeat visitors. This could be sad, considering that analysts view this as the next wave in Internet marketing.

The Mindset Behind Social bookmarking

As most people know, a bookmark is a piece of paper that marks a page so you can find it easily again. Most PC users know that a computer bookmark is a link on your computer that marks a web page so you can find it easily again. A social bookmark on the other hand, is a link that marks a web page so you can find it easily again, but also so you can share it with others (that's why it's called "social"), usually by posting it to one of several dozen social-bookmarking websites.

Social bookmarking is getting much fanfare these days, with sites like Del.icio.us and Digg, Dzone, Reddit and Furl as well as dozens, if not hundreds of others commanding a presence among the top traffic generators on the Internet. Most people like to bookmark their "finds" and they like to show off their "finds" to others, hence the term social bookmarking.

How Online Businesses Can Benefit From This Method

By joining a social bookmarking network, an online business helps create more public awareness of his site, and what type of product or service he/she offers. Listed below are some of the many benefits that social bookmarking offers to online ventures.

- Gain Repeat Visitors

Considering that many people do not buy, register or take action on their first visit to your website, repeat visitors are a necessity, not to mention targeting prospective clients. You can get more repeat visitors to your Web site if they can find your website again.

That means getting them to bookmark your Web site, either on their computer or on the social bookmarking site of their choice. The more bookmarking options you offer, the more visitors are likely to return. The easier you make it for them to bookmark your site, the more of them will. However, you need to have good-quality content, or nobody will dare bookmark your page.

- Other Web Users Will Refer Your Site To Others

When someone bookmarks your Web site on their own computer, they share it with, well, themselves. It's a private thing. But when they bookmark a web page on a social bookmarking, it's more "social". Other people will see it. Other people might share it. Other people might even bookmark it.Web sites like Del.icio.us, Ma.gnolia and SpicyPage are ideal for this. In fact, many of the biggest users of social bookmark Web sites are often users of several. However, you really must have interesting content, or nobody will care that somebody else has bookmarked your page.

- Get Viral Linking

When online viewers see your link at a social bookmarking site, they might bookmark it, or they might add it to their own blog or portal or fan site. Suddenly one person's bookmark becomes several links to your Web site, presumably from reasonably well-targeted sources of traffic. However, you really must have quality content, or nobody will want to blog somebody else's bookmark.

Quick Social Bookmarking - Simple Solutions for Better Social Bookmarking

All of us have websites that we go back to almost everyday or every time we go online. However, it can be somewhat difficult to memorize the URL of a new favorite site, especially if it is quite long. Sometimes when you want to go back to that site and you are stumped when it comes to the URL you end up trying to search Google for it, typing in keywords that you hope will help steer you in the direction of your desired URL. But did you know that there is an easier way to keep track of all your favorite links? That way is through social bookmarking.

Social bookmarking also has another function aside from remembering your favorite sites if you are a business owner. It can actually bring more traffic to your website! What you do is you submit your own website on sites that are dedicated to social bookmarking, appropriately "key worded" so the next time people wish to locate your website it would be easier for them to do so.

Social bookmarking is also a great way to widen your circle of friends on the Internet. If you know more people, then you will have more potential customers for your products. This is especially true if your friends also have the same interests as you. If you want them to take an even deeper interest in you, make sure you visit their site and leave comments as well. If you do, there is a big chance that they too will visit your site and do you a good one by leaving you with a good comment, perhaps even referring you to their friends and loved ones who might happen to have a need for your products and services.

This is also your chance to widen your friends in the Internet. Gaining more friends- this is how social bookmarking can help you with your web site promotion. It is a one stop effective way of boosting targeted traffic to your web site. You are not just organizing your favorites but you are also letting other people know about your company. If you follow all these simple steps, you will surely succeed in social bookmarking.

Social Bookmarking - Enhance Your Capabilities

One of the most recent methods to receive one way back links to your web site is through social bookmarking, a very easy yet efficient method to drive interested prospects to your site. The concept was started in 1996 with the launch of "itList" and has today become popular with the advent of an array of social networking as well as sites such as, "delicious", "squidoo", etc.

With the current ascendancy of social bookmarking on the net, you can still notice that even under the current circumstances, the majority of net users and even webmasters are seemingly unaware as to how the these sites are operating.

If we dissect the term social bookmarking, we firstly get the word bookmarking. In computer based terminology, bookmarking means that when a site is marked as a frequently visited one you can easily find it if you save a shortcut in the bookmark directory. Thus what social bookmarking really means is that it allows anyone who bookmarked a particular part of a social network listing to share it to someone he or she may know on the net.

So how can you really enhance your social bookmarking capabilities? Here are a few pointers that may seem helpful:

1. Request your friends and relatives to bookmark your site and promote it in their particular friend circle. In this way, you are able to endorse your site by letting it crawl across the web space and become a component of the bookmarked sites of the other people.

2. In order to develop a reputation, you should vote and bookmark other sites yourself. When you commence with the bookmarking of a site, they will then respond to your action that you have extended to them by showing interest in your links as well. This gives you better opportunity to have many more bookmarks on your site.

Social bookmarking cannot generate revenue within a very short time span. It is best suited for long term endeavors. Hence keeping your patience in the initial stages may be imperative to your success.

How To Boost Your StumbleUpon Friends List

Ok, over the past week I have been trying to make friends on StumbleUpon as fast as I can. Doing this, I learned some techniques that give results much quicker than normal. I would also like to mention that I do not view myself as an expert in the StumbleUpon community, however I have been experimenting with it for quite sometime. Here is a list of ways to build your community.

  1. One technique would be to join the blogcatalog stumble group. This group is full of other people like yourself trying to build their account profiles. There are threads upon threads of other stumblers trying to make friends by posting their profile pages in these threads. All you need to do is add them as your friend, and most of them will return the favor.

  2. You can also go to digitalpoint forums. If you don't have an account in this forum, I suggest your get one now, as the information that gets passed around freely there is invaluable.

What you do there is you can make a thread in the freebies section saying that you will stumble any pages other readers post in your tread as long as they add you as a friend. This is arguably one of the best and fastest ways to build up a new StumbleUpon account friends list. One set-back that may occur using this method though is that you stumble some pretty ridiculous sites. Sites that you would not normally stumble.

Now when you start stumbling these sites, all the friends that you already have would see these stumbles. I have not had this happen, but I have heard of stumblers losing a lot of the "quality stumblers" in their friends list because of this. Since I have not had this happen yet I can not really say whats right and what wrong, but look at it this way. No matter how you get your friends, once you have built up 200 friends, then you can be a bit more critical when stumbling and build your profile power once your reached your friend limit.

  3. My third recommendation that I feel works well would be to add as many top stumblers as you can find. Don't stop there though. If you stop here, those stumblers will just look at your profile, laugh, and then exit. In order to get those guys and ladies to add you back on their friends list, send them a nice message. In the message, make sure you include things like how they can benefit from having you on their friend list. Try not to beg, as the StumbleUpon community doesn't really respond kindly to beggars, and other people who are trying to get something for nothing.

  4. Another technique that seems to work well is to review someones StumbleUpon profile page. Please be sure it is a positive review! Then just send them a message letting them know that you reviewed their profile, and added them as a friend. That is all your really need to add. Most stumblers will reply to this kindness and then return the favor. You will run into a few that will not respond. Don't worry about it, and just go onto the next one. Remember, we are trying to build our community fast, so don't pity the loses!

  5. My fifth and final method would be to spend a little extra time with the active stumblers. Say there is a stumblers with 1000 fans, and 200 friends. First of all, don't even bother with this one because he/she couldn't add you if they wanted to as they have reached their friends limit, but pay extra attention to the members who have over 100 friends. Getting these guys on your friends list is important.

They are important because lets say you have 1 friend who also has 1 friend. You stumble something, and your 1 friend sees it, and then flows down to his 1 friend. Now lets say you have 1 friend who has 200 friends. Your stumble shows to that 1 friend, but also to his or hers 200 friends! So try a little harder to friend the active stumblers.

Well, that is all the tips and how-tos I have learned so far while building my community. I hoped you enjoyed reading this and if you have any other methods you use to get friends, feel free to comment and let the other readers including myself in on the secret.

Social Bookmarking For Beginners - How Does It Work?

Social bookmarking is a unique method for Internet users to store, organize, share and search bookmarks of web pages. In this system, users save links to Web pages that they want to remember and/or share.

These bookmarks are usually public, but depending on the service's features, may be saved privately, shared only with specific people or groups, shared only inside certain networks, or another combination of publicness and privateness. The allowed people can usually view these bookmarks chronologically, by category or tags, via a search engine, or even randomly.

To put it simply, social bookmarking is bookmarking in public. This accomplishes two things: first, your bookmarks are accessible not just from one computer, but from anywhere you can access the Web; and second, instead of having a huge list of disorganized bookmarks or favorites in your browser, you have a database of organized bookmarks where it's easy to locate what you need. Today, there are a lot of technology, and special interest sites that offer reviews, quick tutorials and overviews on the basics, as well as the advance aspects of social bookmarking .

Organizing Bookmarks With Informal Tags

Most social bookmarking services generally encourage users to organize their bookmarks with informal tags instead of the traditional browser-based system of folders, although some services feature categories/folders or a combination of folders and tags. They also enable viewing bookmarks associated with a chosen tag, and include information about the number of users who have bookmarked them.

Some social bookmarking services also draw inferences from the relationship of tags to create clusters of tags or bookmarks. In addition, many bookmarking services provide Web feeds for their lists of bookmarks, including lists organized by tags, as this allows subscribers to become aware of new bookmarks as they are saved, shared, and tagged by other users.

The Advantages Of Using Social Bookmarking Systems

Social bookmarking has several advantages over traditional resource location and classification software, such as search engine spiders. All tag-based sorting and classification of Internet Web sites, is done by human beings, who understand the content of the resource, whereas, a computer software electronically attempts to determine the meaning or value, of a resource or site.

Additionally, as people bookmark resources that they find useful, resources that are of more use are bookmarked by more users. As such, a system will "rank" a resource based on its perceived utility. This is arguably a more useful method for end users than other systems, which rank resources based on the number of external links pointing to it.

At present, there area a lot of bookmarking Web sites that help different levels of users and interests groups. There are sites that serve the bookmarking needs of students, university professors, doctors, Web programmers and designers, engineers, and others.

Many social bookmarking services provide web feeds for their lists of bookmarks, including lists organized by tags. This allows subscribers to be aware of new bookmarks as they are saved, shared, and tagged by other users.

As these services have improved and become more popular, they have added extra features such as ratings and comments on bookmarks, the ability to import and export bookmarks from browsers, emailing of bookmarks, web annotation, and groups or other social network features. Among the more popular sites are Digg, Furl, del.icio.us, Diggo, StumbleUpon, Newsvine, Reddit, Netvous, SiteBar and Thoof.

How Social Bookmarking Helps Businesses Promote Their Services

Social bookmarking and media sites have become so popular these days, and this is something that many businesses are taking advantage of, since these sites can be utilized to reach large groups of people with various interests for little or no cost.

Unlike the bookmarking sites of old, today's sites allow people to openly share their bookmarks, which is the essence o how 'social' it gets. People can build their own lists that exist as a web page and others can come view the page. People can also discover Web sites without searching.

Searching as you well know is one of the most used methods for discovering information and Web sites but it does have it's problems. For example, how would you know what words to search for when you're don't know what something is called? You may know it's something you want but not know what the name or term for that item, problem or solution.

Relying Solely On Search Engines Is Not That Effective Anymore

Sometimes search engines aren't accurate at all. There have been a lot of times when users searched for something, and the results were a list of commercial Web sites or somehow useless sites that are way of the ones you really wanted. Search engines may like you to think you cannot manipulate them but if that were 100% true, you'd always find what you want to look for every time you search.

The truth is, they will list sites according to what they think makes a good Web site. So a Web master only has to 'play by their rules' and get decent results. Besides, there are some really good sites that don't make it to the top of search engines - maybe because their Web masters aren't SEO savvy or just don't have the time.

There Are Specific Bookmarking Sites That Help Businesses Grow

There are even topic-specific social bookmarking sites that can be used to promote your business to a more targeted audience. You can also write "article" type stories that promote your business without sounding too promotional. Then, potential customers are able to read your article and click through to your Web site.

Bookmarks Offer An Excellent Marketing Venue

Because of the fact that you can share your bookmarks with others with the same interests, social bookmarking can be an excellent marketing strategy. When you bookmark a site, like your business site, you are able to describe it with a "tag". A tag is a keyword that is used to find bookmarks on a site. By associating the right tags with each of your bookmarks, you can get a steady stream of interested visitors to your site.

Social bookmarking, in a nutshell, is all about labeling the Web, making it easier to find the content that you're looking for by passing on what you've found. The labels applied to web sites are generally called tags, and over time a kind of taxonomy grows, whereby persistent tags help information to be aggregated and mined for information. Where a taxonomy was, however, the product of specialists carefully categorizing items within their area of specialism, social bookmarking produces instead what has been termed a folksonomy.

Social Bookmarking And Web 2.0 Are Here To Stay?

Internet marketing is a very fascinating field. The more I read and study the more fascinated I become. The terms social book marking and web 2.0 seem to be hot topics and the internet marketing world is filled with the terms.

In researching social bookmarking and web 2.0, there are not many all inclusive sources that I could find to learn about these terms in one place. If you Google the terms, there is no shortage of programs for sale including videos and e-books on them. There are the usual gurus who will take you by the hand and help you make fortunes using their programs. The problem is they cost a lot of money over time and the learning curve is a lot steeper than it would appear to be when you read the squeeze pages introducing you to their products. So the quest continues to learn more about the new internet.

I am a little concerned that web 3.0 will be here before I master web 2.0. I also may go bankrupt before I learn it all. The most important thing I have learned is that nothing happens overnight or in 15 minutes as many of the gurus tell you. I am still looking for a resource for people like me who want to learn as much as they can in one place.

There is no doubt that work is required to master a knowledge of the internet marketing field and succeed in online business.

Tag and Ping - Social Bookmarking Secrets

Tag and Ping, these three words have suddenly become the mantra that every body seems to be chanting. Its almost reminiscent of the days when Blog and Ping was being sold as the sole panacea for indexing and getting traffic to your sites.

The "Tag And Ping" method that every body is talking about is nothing but taking social bookmarking and leveraging it for SEO.

While social bookmarking has been around for quite some time and was originally intended to help users categorize and store their favorite links online, SEO professionals soon saw the potential for utilizing this to get their sites to rank high.

Tag And Ping can be used to promote any type of website, whether its a website monetized with Google Adsense, your Blog, Your sales page or even a site promoting affiliate products.

You know, luckily not many people know that Social Bookmarking can be used as a link building methodology and this presents you a great opportunity, as a Tag Automator subscriber, to stay one step ahead of the competition.

The strategies explained over the next few emails will help you get an unbelievable avalanche of traffic to your sites and the Tag Automator software suite will multiply that many times more.

So stay tuned and make the most of this strategy.

So, What Is Social Bookmarking ?

Social bookmarking is utilizing a web service, where users create a public repository of bookmarks pertaining to sites that they like.

The concept of social bookmarking dates back to 1996 with the launch of itList.com, followed by services like Blink and Hotlinks and many more. But, the popularity of Social Bookmarking increased with the advent of the most popular bookmarking site till date, del.icio.us.

Social bookmarking sites organize their content using tags. Social bookmarking sites are an increasingly popular way to locate, classify, rank, and share Internet resources through the practice of tagging and inferences drawn from grouping and analysis of tags.

And What is a Tag?

A tag is basically a keyword. It is a label that you categorize a website under. For example if I was tagging this website, I would tag it under "tag and ping", "tag", "ping" etc.

Tagging is simply a way to find a website that I bookmark without remembering where you put it. You can just enter a tag to find websites that you have marked with certain tags.

The tags act as a way to quickly find your bookmarks without remembering where you put them. This is why the bookmark sites allow you to assign more than one tag.

These bookmark sites allow you to share your personal bookmarks with the public. This is where the term "social" comes into play. When you bookmark a site other people can also find the site that you bookmarked if they enter the same tag that you classified the site under.

Not only can you find the sites that you tagged under certain keywords but so can everyone else.

These bookmarks and tags may seem like geekspeak, but from an SEO standpoint these can build you a massive amount of backlinks which seem to originate from authority sites.

Social Bookmarking: What's The Big Deal?

Although social bookmarking might be something you've only just come across, it has in fact been around for a few years. It's certainly getting more popular every day, and has taken off in a big way very recently. If you're involved in Internet marketing, it's also a great way to help generate traffic and page rank to your site. So the sooner you learn about it, the quicker your Internet business can benefit.

Put simply, social bookmarking is simply a way of saving your favorite URLs online. You probably already have a "Favorites" folder on your computer. Well, social bookmarking is just an online version of that. The main difference is that your social bookmarking favorites are publicly available for anyone to see. So, the big question is - how can this benefit your business?

If you do a Google search you'll soon come up with a list of the most popular social bookmarking websites. Take a look at http://del.icio.us, which is one of the most popular. All you need to do, once you've joined the social bookmarking site, is to start adding your URLs. With each URL you also add a list of tags, or keywords, so that people know what that URL is all about. So if you've bookmarked a site about dogs, for example, then make sure you use the word "dogs" as one of the tags.

You can also choose whether to make the listing public or private. Use a public listing if it's a website you want other people to find, such as your own website. A public listing will also show other information such as who created the bookmark, when, and give an indication of how popular that particular keyword is on the site. But you can use the private setting for other URLs that you know you will want to access while you're traveling around, and don't have access to your home computer.

In some ways, then, a social bookmarking site is like a search engine, except that it only searches entries on its database. But the good part about that is that only sites that other people recommend will be listed. It's easy to find a list of sites on any topic you might be interested in. Type in dogs, for example, and you'll see sites that other people have recommended.

For Internet marketing purposes, then, you would add your website to you social bookmarking account, pick your main keywords and use them as tags, and potentially generate traffic to your site. Another idea would be to have a link to your social bookmarking account from your blog page, so that people can see a frequently updated list of your recommended websites about that topic. You also get a backlink from the social bookmarking site to your website, which helps to boost your popularity in the eyes of the search engines.

For optimal results, you should open as many accounts on different social bookmarking sites as you can. The only problem is that posting your website to these accounts can be come very tedious. Especially if you have a large number of websites or if you are adding the bookmark to a large number of accounts.

Recently a new Wordpress plugin has been released to eliminate some of this tedious work. It can automatically add bookmarks to all of your bookmarking accounts hands free. It is a great time saving tool that I highly recommend to anyone who wants to take advantage of social bookmarking without spending hours bookmarking their pages manually. Check it out here http://www.autosocialposter.com

Social bookmarking is only in its infancy, and will probably develop in ways that nobody has even imagined yet. In the meantime, there's no doubt it's a great way to get traffic to your websites, so what are you waiting for?
